Helllo and welcome,

Seems that your trip is well thought but you bypassed one of our best looking areas and city:Brasov.
You should reconsider your journey and include this city also Rasnov being so close to it.
Returning to Ramnicu Valcea should be through Brasov, Rasnov (visit the bear reservation and surroundings), Bran (castle of Dracula), Moeciu-Cheile Gradistei (a beautiful hotel complex with spa, restaurants and spectacular views) then back to Rucar, Campulung Muscel (from there you should take a small detour to the trout farm Candesti - very nice area for a 3 hrs rest) then back to Pitesti and then to Ramnicu Valcea and on your route.
Generally you will not have problems as long as you are planning to sleep in hotels or pensions, if you are planning to sleep outdoors I recommend having a local guide or a romanian friend with you.

Best of luck.

Hello to all from Italy!

At the end of may i will enjoy Transilvania on my 1992 Supertenere, or at least this should be my program.

Should i avoid some zones ? For thieft , uninterest or some other reason?

I want to stop immediately a wrong opinion that it seems i have in your (Romania) regard...

If you came to italy the first thing i would tell you is to avoid going in some places, because we motorbiker are a big family and i'm interested to tell you the wrong places.

For example i never thought about a visit of CORSE (France) because too many friends went by bike and came back by train...

That's why one of the first thing has been the word THIEFT.
Sorry, i apologize if it seemed i'm "racist".

I don't have any prejudiciu (thanks Google :) ): i love meeting new population, live with them.

The only pity for me is that since one year i've been diagnosticated COELIAC DISESASE then eating with "families" could be a problem because of gluten....but i'm sure i'll not have problems in general.

I read " if you are planning to sleep outdoors I recommend having a local guide or a romanian friend with you."  l : but what about camping? I saw there are many (every point in my map posted is a camping i found 2 days ago)

are there any  interesting roads to go on?

thanks!

Do not worry, i understood perfectly your point :)
Ok, in the camps you will have no problems although i can't tell you from my own experience because i did not stayed in those camps. Off road, oh my god !!!! there are splendid places, very easy to ride, not far from civilization and believe me you will never forget thees places.
I will recommend some of those to you.
This days when i will have time i will create routes for you to check.

Simply great, many thanks!
Today i had a little problem, rear brake disk broken in two parts :-(  ebay will help me already by the end of the week!
Then ur telling that there are no problems in going off-road, no off limit zones or at least, a part from those, it's free?

No limit roads, just national parks are of limits, but alone you will not succeed  to enter there.
Best of luck.

Romania is safer than southern Italy, a large number of criminals "work" now in Italy, Spain, UK. Romanians and (fucking) Gypsies (10-15%) are two different people. The roads are better now, but tourism is not ok. Off road is theoretically forbidden but practically not legal repercussions :). After a few days your opinion will change for the better. The forum movement is poor because ... facebook (Now I see that you have fb). Call me when you get near Sibiu and I can accompany you on unpaved roads nearTransalpina and Transfagarasan on weekend. if you have a newer bike better than 750 you can go with it, we are not in Africa or South America. For enduro in rainy periods you need tires tkc80 / Karoo / E09. Gasoline is expensive... 1,25, there are few places you can pay in euros but an unfavorable exchange rate. Do not go to exchange offices, only and only go to the bank !!!
Best regards!

Thanks!
I'll take money from Bancomat surely.

and about the bike...it's the newer bike i have : the other one is a XT 55 W built in 1985 but 1400 km with a monocylinder only to arrive...makes me crazy only the idea :)

I agree with Mihai about Transalpina and Transfagarasan you should see them they are spectacular. Turism is not ok regarding the infrastructure or, sometimes the poor quality of service but not because you have nothing to see. For sure you will remember this holiday if you see what it is to be seen :)

Regards.
